Destiny Starting Point is a specialized facility catering to delinquent boys and girls aged 7 to 17, who struggle with discipline due to challenges with their parents and school authorities. The home’s mission is to rehabilitate these young lives who may have been led astray by negative influences and nurture them to become healthy and productive individuals.

At Destiny Starting Point, they create a homely environment where these young individuals can freely express themselves. They provide stability, love, security, and discipline. Having relocated to Pandamaran in 1994, they recognized the need to make a difference in the area by reaching out to troubled teenagers and children involved in issues like drugs, school dropout, and gangsterism. This led to them initially housing three troubled boys in their home, but the demand soon exceeded their capacity.

Driven by a sense of purpose and guided by their convictions, they decided to address these “social ills” in society. They moved to a larger and more spacious place in Taman Radzi to expand their efforts.

Destiny Starting Point’s approach is rooted in the understanding that people are shaped by their environment. Nobody is inherently destined to be a drug addict, gangster, or societal troublemaker; these paths are often taken due to life circumstances and influences. Given the opportunity, these troubled youths aspire to create better lives for themselves but need guidance, care, counseling, and love.

Their objectives include rescuing these young lives from their destructive habits and surroundings, restoring their sense of destiny and identity, reconciling them with their families and society, and reforming their behavior. Each individual receives a duration of two years or more to cultivate new, positive habits. They undergo training in basic skills, attend hygiene classes, receive counseling and character-building sessions, engage in nature studies, participate in house chores, attend motivational talks, take part in sports and recreational activities, and receive academic tuition.
