The Little Sisters of the Poor is a home set up by Roman Catholic nuns for looking after the elderly poor². The home in Kuala Lumpur is located in Cheras, and is also called St Francis Xavier’s Home for the Elderly². It is similar to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Penang².

The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international congregation of Roman Catholic women religious founded in 1839 by St Jeanne Jugan³. They serve the elderly poor in over 30 countries around the world³. Their mission is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family, and accompanied with dignity until God calls them to himself³.
