SPECIAL OLYMPICS SELANGOR is a non-profit international program of sports training and athletic competition for persons with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics International is the world’s largest amateur sports with more than one million athletes in over 150 countries and the only organisation authorized by the International Olympic Committee to use “Olympics” worldwide.

Our Mission

is to provide year-round  sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship, other SO athletes and the community. 

Our Goal

is to help persons with ID to develop their potential and to become useful and productive citizens who are accepted and respected in their communities.
