Catsoterra Berhad, a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLBG) incorporated on November 13, 2025, is actively progressing toward full nonprofit status as an animal welfare organization despite its current CLBG structure.
Operating under the public brand Cats Of Penang, the organization is committed to large-scale Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) operations throughout Penang. In 2025 alone, Catsoterra is on track to sterilize over 300 stray and community cats, aiming to humanely and sustainably reduce overpopulation.
The organization has experienced rapid growth, now boasting over 60 registered volunteer members and numerous established brand partners within Penang’s veterinary, pet care, and local business communities. These partnerships, combined with a structured volunteer system, enable Catsoterra to subsidize TNR costs, making sterilization accessible to all individuals involved in animal welfare.
For its volunteers, Catsoterra covers the full cost of basic sterilization for the stray cats under their care, with volunteers only responsible for additional procedures, such as by cats in heat or pregnancy. The organization’s mission focuses on normalizing sterilization, eliminating financial barriers, and promoting a healthier, safer cat population across Penang.
