Food Not Bombs-KL is a diverse collective of people of all ages and backgrounds dedicated to actively addressing social exclusion, poverty, and homelessness. For over 10 years, we have been preparing and sharing hot, vegetarian meals every Sunday evening with persons on the streets in central Kuala Lumpur. Our underlying mission is to openly challenge inequality, help distribute resources to persons facing poverty & homelessness, and bring people together in a safe space of mutual respect.

Food Not Bombs-KL believes that deprivation and poverty are grave injustices, especially in a society that disposes of so much perfectly usable food and materials out of commercial interest. We collect “commercially-unwanted” materials from local markets and transform them into free vegetarian meals. We do this as a form of protest, and as a means to raise awareness of the problems of wastage and unjust distribution in society.

Homelessness is indicative of social and economic problems in our society, not personal or moral problems in individual people. FNBKL acts in cooperation with people on the streets and bases all its work on deep respect for, trust in, and solidarity with each and every one.

Food Not Bombs-KL FNBKL has no religious, corporate, or political party affiliations.

On Sundays, homeless and non-homeless partners come together to cook at our outdoor kitchen near Segi College from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.

We then eat together by Muzium Telekom from 5:30PM to 7:00PM.

We welcome anyone who would like to join us as we prepare dinner (1:00PM to 5:00PM), as we eat dinner (5:30PM to 7:00PM), or both.
