Sheltered Workshop Semangar Maju Taiping had its humble beginning in the compound of Sekolah Semangat Maju Taiping on 1st April 2003. We started off with 14 participants and to-date we have 79 participants. Out of this 68 participants 28 of them are gainfully employed in factories in Taiping.

More people began to accept and understand the needs and capabilities of our participants. Offer of work came in and we proved to our supporters that the mentally disabled people could work too. In Ogos 2009, we have shifted to a new rental place in Taman Aulong.
