Pertubuhan Sains dan Kesejahteraan or better known as Science and Wellness Organisation (“SWO”) is a non-profit organization that focuses on environmental research activities. The study of physical, chemical and biological aspects of the environment helps SWO determine the impact of human activity, living organisms, weather and naturally occurring landmarks on the general wellbeing of the human society at large and develop solutions for conservation and prevention. Recent decades have seen a dramatically accelerating pace in the development and adoption of new technologies, resulting in both positive and negative effects on human life.

Whilst the adoption of advanced technologies improved the way we communicate, increased productivity, led to important discoveries in medical treatment and generally helped to improve quality of human life, it has also set off a chain of undesired effects that are contrary to the well-being of the environment and human beings on this planet. The psychological and physical effects of mobile phones is a case in point. Similarly, the insatiable demand for technological devices have caused a surge in rare-earth mining activities which comes with a number of environmental downside if left to conventional methods.

Contrary to the approach taken by conventional environmental activists, SWO believes in embracing the challenges posed by the advent of modern technological advancements and striking a balance so that the human society can continue to benefit from such advancements with minimal health risks. Towards this end, SWO’s own research work over the past decade has led to the discovery of various solutions that can help counter these ill-effects with key emphasis on conservation of sustainable clean water supply, tackling modifiable risk factors of cancer and promoting environmentally friendly mining techniques.

As part of its efforts to improve lives, SWO is now en-route to implement its solutions and actively seeks like-minded parties to jointly undertake viable projects that will adopt the respective solutions discovered by SWO. SWO is committed to play an active part in managing the factors that influences environmental changes for the benefit of present and future generations.
