On 11th February 2007, members of the Society of St Vincent de Paul Klang set up Rumah Ozanam Klang to cater for the needs of girls between the ages of 4 years old and 12 years old who have been abandoned, are under-privileged and marginalized.

The home would provide a conducive environment for the girls to re-adjust to a normal way of life with love and care. It will help them build a firm foundation in primary education after which they will go to the home run by the same society in Petaling Jaya.

Who We Are

Rumah Ozanam Klang is a welfare home located at No 22 Jalan Melawis in Klang for under-privileged girls in Klang and surrounding areas. It provides shelter for girls between the ages of four years old to twelve years old. The residents are from needy families including orphans and children of single mothers living in poverty.

Established in February 2007, Rumah Ozanam provides shelter to these under-privileged girls to help them grow in a positive and caring environment.

Objectives

• To provide a fresh and conducive environment for their growth.
• To provide them with a sound primary education with the aim of achieving proper qualifications.
• To provide them with loving care and a good life.
• To restore their dignity and self-respect in society.

“ They are taught to be independent and to be able to manage themselves, apart from being inculcated with noble values and a good foundation in education.”

A proper education is the key to helping the children to break out from the cycle of poverty. The children are provided tuition and computer classes to help them in their studies. They are allowed to go on field trips organized by their schools and also attend activities and functions organized by various organisations.
