SDARIM is an independent organization focused on supporting Somali refugees with disabilities in Malaysia, including children and adults.

Main areas of work include:

Protection and advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities
Access to healthcare and medical support
Mental health support
Education and skills development
Assistance with disability equipment, including wheelchairs
Support for children with autism
Support for mothers and caregivers of children with disabilities
GBV prevention and protection
Livelihood and skills development opportunities
Disability needs assessments and registration
Connecting refugees with disabilities to relevant support organizations
Protection and resettlement-related support

SDARIM Centre

The SDARIM Centre provides a safe and supportive space for refugees with disabilities and children with autism. The centre organizes activities such as English classes, autism activities, teacher and parent training, handicraft activities, awareness programmes, and caregiver support.

SDARIM also aims to develop the centre as a place where organizations, autism specialists, universities, and other partners can visit and provide training, assessments, and support to refugees with disabilities.
